The previous article published, “Pesticides and Honey Bees” says it all. The company who produce that particular bee killer is Bayer - the BBKA’s favourite sponsor!!
What are they doing? How can anyone concerned about bees and the environment feel comfortable about the BBKA’s cosy financial relationship with these poison manufacturers.
We can only be grateful they are not in charge of schools, where they would no doubt set up a financial relationship with the tobacco companies and argue how they fund antismoking education and donate to cancer research!

    “Bee Friendly” pesticides… yeah right.

Unbelievable……so the BBKA, guardians of the honeybee are going to have their logo stuck on the sides of pesticides? You couldn’t make it up……

How can the BBKA hold its head up high and claim to work for the good of beekeepers and their bees when they have a financial relationship with the agrochemical companies? It is entirely inappropriate for the BBKA to continue with this policy. Why are they so keen to get into bed with these companies? It undermines new and old beekeepers alike.
For the sake of a £1.50 increase in annual subs all this controversy could be done away with, and we could once again feel proud to be members of a group that truly represents the interests of beekeepers, their bees and the wider environment.
